REVIEW
Some
of you may recognize the title of "Rurouni Kenshin" as "Samurai X",
where one of the local television channel in the country could serve
themed cartoon samurai in the Edo period.
After a few years, the series "Rurouni Kenshin" which debuted on the
comic has now been aired as a live action version for the big screen.
His first film, titled the same last aired in 2012.
After
the events that happened in the first film, now Kenshin Himura live
quietly Kamiya family residence which is also a dojo. But the composure
disturbed when he was asked for help by the new Japanese government to
assist them in the fight against Shishio Makoto, a former assassin in
wartime past that ambition to overthrow the government of Japan.
When
Kenshin was thinking the request for help, an event occurs and
strengthen the heart Kenshin "Hitokiri Battōsai" to go to Kyoto where
Shishio was once stopped. However, defeat Shishio is not easy,
considering he has a bunch swordsman nicknamed "Juppongatana" along with
other great ambition not only to overthrow a government alone. Can
Kenshin strenuous task without having deviated from his ideals to not
kill people anymore?
It
must be acknowledged that not all the film adaptation of Japanese
comics (manga) is able to provide an overview and visualization good as
that obtained from the original book. Yet another thing with the movie
"Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno" is. Although not all the scenes there
are exactly the same as found in the comic due to limitations of time
and possibly a variety of other considerations, but the film is able to
give the feel and good characterization based on what is already present
in the comic version.
Film
"Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno" still presents a variety of wit and
seriousness of the characters, especially the artists involved in this
film has good acting skills so as to give a portrayal of the character
that corresponds to that contained in the comic version. Some details of
the behavior of each character performed beautifully by the artist,
with appearances and costumes are not much different from the original
comic. Although follow embodiment of characters in the original version,
each character contained in the "Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno" does
not have the impression of "force" and even looks quite natural like an
ordinary person.
The
duration of which is owned by the "Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno" This
is quite long by serving a variety of drama and action scenes are not
at all a little portion. If you are one of the tuned as to what action
scenes that are present in this film, "Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno"
offers so many scuffles and fights scenes weapons are quite fierce and
fun to observe.
Unfortunately,
the film is too long duration might make some viewers become bored
because the plot is too long. However, the plot given by the film is
quite strong because of this first film is "enabled" to explain the details of the story and the introduction of characters that will be connected directly to the next movie.
As
anyone who has ever watched an anime version and read the comic
version, the movie "Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno" could be a
"refresher" is good as well as a film that is able to give a sense of
nostalgia for the old series were quite popular in the era. However this
may be less feel for those who are not familiar with the series before,
or at least the first film ever watched. Despite having some
shortcomings, the film "Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno" deserves to be
listened to as a Japanese movie that can be said as one of the film
adaptation of the best comic!
